The Olympic flame is extinguished in Vancouver and re-lit in Kamloops. While the Olympic Games in Vancouver are over, the next world event starts close to the Olympic venues: in Kamloops approx. four hours (by car) away from Vancouver. kamloops_opening_r
During an impressive show (music, artists, speeches) the 4th World Masters Championships Indoor has been declared open. From Monday (March 1) to Saturday (March 6) the 88000-inhabitants-city of Kamloops will be the center of the world veterans' sport. 1386 athletes are registered, coming from 62 countries of the world. On Monday morning the combined event athletes start as well as the throwers and the cross country runners.
