The Irish athlete Geraldine Finegan declared guilty of an anti-doping rule violation and disqualified from the WMA World Indoor Championships in Kamloops, Canada

The WMA acknowledges the information recently received from the Irish Sports Council that Ms Geraldine Finegan, a master athlete from Ireland, was found guilty of a doping offence and sanctioned with a 2-month period of ineligibility (from April 27 to June 26, 2010). The analysis of Ms Finegan’s urine sample collected on 5 March 2010 at the WMA World Master Indoor Championships in Kamloops (Canada), revealed the presence of a prohibited stimulant (ephedrine). Her results achieved at the World Indoor Championships, 60mH (1st place) and 400m(3rd place), will be disqualified accordingly.
