Spain has elected the best veterans of the year 2011, too. The long distance runner Aurora Perez (W55) won the election of the Iberian peninsula. Though Aurora Perez could not compete in Sacramento at the World Masters Championhsips (caused by an injury) her performances have been so outstanding that she won the sixth time the election as best Spanish woman.
Miguel Angel Prieto (M 45) was the best Spanish male veteran of the year 2011. The race walker has had (again) a great season in 2011. One of the best performances, showing his superiority in Europe, Miguel Angel Prieto completed in Gent during the European Indoor championships in 3000 m track walk and in 5 km road walk.
