European Best Veterans (EBV) 2005
Best Female Veteran
Rietje Dijkman, NED 210639 (W65) is elected "European Best Veteran 2005" in women's athletics.In EVACS in Århus/Randers, DEN 2004 she set up 4 World Records Outdoors in W65, three still valid: 80m Hurdles 14.27 +0.7, 300m Hurdles 59.58, High Jump 1.34 and Pentathlon 4748 points (14.62, 1.34, 7.77, 3.56, 3.38.99).
In EVACSI in Eskilstuna March 2005 she set up 4 World Records Indoors: 60m Hurdles (11.02), High Jump (1.28), Triple Jump (8.68) and Pentathlon (4669 points)
In World Master Games in Edmonton, CAN July 2005 she easy won 5 gold: 80m Hurdles (15.41/-2.2), 300m Hurdles (55.69), High Jump (1.25), Triple Jump (8.93) and Pentathlon (4610 points). She set up a new World Record in 300m Hurdles.
In WMA Championships in San Sebastian, ESP August 2005 she excellently won 4 gold: 80m Hurdles (14.84), 300m Hurdles (56.96), High Jump (1.30) and Triple Jump (8.53) .
No other woman has set up and is in the possession of so many European and World Records outdoors and indoors in the course of one year. And Rietje is superior to the other veterans in 5 events and has outclassed the old records.
Best Male Veteran
Wolfgang Reuter, GER 120829 (M75) is elected "European Best veteran 2005" in men's athletics.No one has set up so many World Records/European Records outdoors and indoors in 2005, totally 5 World Records and further one European Record in M75. Mostly he is superior to the other veterans in M75.
He has in 2005 set up 3 World Records Indoors: 60m (8.62), 200m (28.98) and Long Jump (470).
And he has set up 2 World Record Outdoors in M75: 100m (13.61), 200m (27.97) and one European Record Outdoors: Long Jump (4.75).
In World Master Games in Edmonton, CAN July 2005 he easy won 4 gold and 1 bronze: 100m (13.81/-0.9), 200m (28.62/-1.2) , 400m (66.75), Long Jump (4.75/+1.0) and bronze in High Jump (1.25). The result in Long Jump is new European Record.
In WMA Championships in San Sebastian, ESP August 2005 Wolfgang excellently won 3 gold: 100m (13.71), 200m (28.33) and Long Jump (4.54).
