Two world records by Europeans
A successful beginning for European athletes. While yesterday the German Klemens Wittig started the run of titles, Christine Mueller (SUI) -the World and European Best of 2008- started the run of world records and sets the first world record in heptathlon together with Dr. Rolf Geese (GER), who wons the decathlon.
Christine Mueller's performances: 12,24 sec (80 m h), 1,48 m (high jump), 9,03 m (shot put), 27,22 sec. (200 m, -1,8 m/sec), 4,90 m (long jump), 27,10 m (javelin), 2:38,76 min (800m) = 6.272 points
Dr. Rolf Geese: 13,83 sec (100 m), 4,97 m (l j), 11,41 m (s p), 1,42 m (h j), 63,64 sec (400 m), 16,54 sec (100 m h), 34,57 m (d t), 3,10 m (p v), 25,12 (j t) and 5:50,10 min (1500 m) = 8.260 pts.
