The fifth time the European Veterans Athletic Association (EVAA) honoured and decorated the best athletes. 2009 Gitte Karlshöj (DEN) and Guido Müller (GER) won the election and received the award in the form of the statue of the Greek victory goddess NIKE.
Gitte Karlshöj was presented by a laudation of Jean Thomas (FRA; EVAA treasurer) and expressed her satisfaction to this award.

Gitte, a multi participant of Olympic Games and IAAF World Championships, continued her brilliant career very soon after a short break and now she is worldwide leading the long distance run-scenery.
Guido Müller was presented by his hurdle-colleague Kurt Kaschke (GER, EVAA secretary) and was pretty astonished to meet past Greek competitors (hurdle runners) sitting in the more than 50 person audience in the historical bulding of the Greek Veterans Association which is located in the antique park of the Panathinaikos Stadium of Athens.
The morning and the afternoon both EBVs used for a guided visit of the antique places of Athens including the visit of Akropolis.
