41 European countries register 3117 athletes

The preparations to the 17th European Veterans Athletic Championship Stadia are approaching the final stretch. 41 countries will send athletes to these championships, 3117 athletes want to compete in more than 6500 events.

Germany -as usual leading- has reported 528 athletes, followed by the host Hungary with 317, Great Britain & Northern Ireland with 274, Italy with 243, Russia with 186, France with 147 and Spain with 143.
In 1990 Hungary already hosted the European Championships. At that time (the first time after the fall of the Berlin wall) 3050 athletes competed (Hungary with 115 in 1990).
The technical experts are now requested to finalise the daily programme which will published briefly.
